40th Birthday Cakes

Great experience of ordering a cake with Reshmi/Anges de Sucre. She had a variety of budget options on her website plus possibility of a bespoke cake. Easy ordering and seamless delivery. UPDATED: Perfect cake. Ordered for my 30th and was very happy, best birthday cake I’ve had since a rugrats one on my 7th birthday 😂. Delicious, the SBC( buttercream) defo is tastier at room temp as outlined in the helpful instructions on the lid. Kept well - it was a super hot weekend so I put it in the fridge but it arrived Saturday and I polished off the last of it on Thursday. The sparkler/ topper in the box was a thoughtful addition. Will order again (and again) Updating this review two years later to say I still love the cakes and add photos of this years. I didn’t get great photos because I ate so fast. We had a heat wave again and my flat lacks cool and dry places so I ignored the instructions (which are clearly written on the box!!!) and put it in the fridge - it still tastes great just not as moist. It’s still 100000% better than the chain bakers. I went for one of the more cost friendly options this time. They are still huge! Still worth every penny

The coffee cake was absolutely fantastic. It looked brilliant, had the perfect level of coffee flavour in the sponge and the buttercream was light and delicious. The recipient was thrilled. The team were really responsive in dealing with questions before I ordered too. Would recommend.

Lovely service which is genuine and human! Also I am genuinely very impressed that the Owner is not afraid to 'to tell it like it is'. The fact of the matter is that the customer isn't always right. 10000% recommend.

I was about to treat myself to some cake from the fridge- then I remembered the wonderful advice about how this is totally rank and I allowed the cake to come to room temperature before enjoying my now delicious snack. 10/10 would recommend.

Absolutely blown away by the cake! Not only did it look stunning. But it tasted even better. You can tell every detail was made with care and passion. The sponge was moist, the frosting was out of this world, and the decoration was just perfect for the occasion. Professional, friendly, and easy to work with from start to finish. Highly recommend.

The most amazing cakes by this wonderful, independent baker. Delicious, beautiful and she could not have been kinder, understood exactly what we wanted and she certainly delivered. The flavours for my parents anniversary cake were sensational and all of the guests raved about it. We will be ordering from here for eve try special occasion.

Having followed Angesdesucre on Instagram for a while, I finally had the opportunity to order one of her delicious cakes. What can I say…the sponge is perfectly light and moist (sorry!) and the buttercream was perfect…silky smooth and not too sweet! Cannot wait to have an excuse to order another one. Thank you!

Ordered a matcha cake for my birthday. Absolutely amazing. Looked and tasted phenomenal and they left a really cute birthday message on the box. Been looking for a matcha cake everywhere and this is the one!!

Ordered the chocolate orange cake for my partner’s birthday, and it was very seriously the best cake I’ve had in London and probably ever? The prices are hefty but it was honestly worth it, he was thrilled and everyone thought it was absolutely delicious. ❤️

Absolutely Fantastic! I cannot recommend Anges de Sucre highly enough! We ordered custom cakes for my daughter’s third and fourth birthday, and not only was it beautifully crafted, but it also tasted incredible. We ordered 2x Gruffalo themed cakes last year and 1x Zog and the Flying Doctors themed cake this year. The talent and attention to detail in the design was impeccable—every character looked exactly as in the books. The flavours were perfectly balanced, the cake was a hit with my little one and all my guests. The communication was seamless, and Anges de Sucre truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We will definitely be ordering again for future events!

My review of Anges de Sucre is about 10 years overdue, that's how long I've been buying these cakes. I first did so in Selfridges, then at the now sadly defunct shop off Ken Church St and finally online, but in all this time Reshmi has simply gone from strength to strength, now offering a simply shocking array of cakes. I'm no pâtissière but, like Nigella, I self-qualify as an expert by virtue of being an eager eater [and thus always reassuringly "a little bit fat" like Bridget Jones] and having had cakes from every man and woman and his and her dog in London [Harrods, Lola, Peggy Porschen, Lili Vanilli, Flavourtown, April's Bakery, Konditor, F&M... and these are just the first that spring to mine], Reshmi consistently blows them out of the water sideways. Note the use of "consistently" which is very important in my book. In simple terms, every time I tried some else's cake I would always end up disappointed on a varying scale, with some of them covered in greasy icing, others only good for 24 hours, and others still progressively drying out down the rainbow layers [how is that even possible?! WHY!]. None of that with a cake from Anges de Sucre who simply seduced me since my first one [and you never forget it, mine was the ghetto riche cake which you can still order] and continues to entice me with many designs that sit the right side of kitsch, where I spend most of my life. I am enclosing some of the cakes I've had over the years but there are plenty more where those came from! Still toying with the possibility of ordering a croque en bouche one of these days... may need to invite 50 random people to my digs or perhaps concentrate and power-through solo.

A massive thank you for the cake service that you provided for our intimate wedding. The cake was delivered directly to the venue on the morning of our wedding and it was certainly a talking point for the guests. The cake was perfectly suited to the style of our English and French wedding and was the perfect additional touch to making our day extra special. My wife is a baking enthusiast and has been following Anges de Sucre and Reshmi since she moved to London 10 years ago and therefore was extra special for her to have one of your cakes at our wedding – the cake was stunning and tasted amazing! First time reviewing, second time ordering. These cakes are without a doubt high end, a lot more costly than perhaps other bakers but it shows in the quality of sponge and ingredients used to make this deliciousness. I first ordered from Reshmi back in 2020 for my partners 30th and it did not disappoint, best cake I've ever had #Netflixandchill. This time round I went with something different the 'Caricature' photo cake and was extremely impressed with the resemblance 👌🏼 Free delivery, reliable, friendly and even came with a free cake fountain. I've attached both photos from separate orders. Returning customer for sure, thank you to Reshmi and your wonderful team.

I don‘t know how to say this without it sounding awfully like an advertisement - but the cake we got was as perfect as it gets. The Matcha Sakura Cake had excellent flavour and somehow looked better than the picture online, with the light and soft chocolate sponge going perfectly with the not too overpowering matcha buttercream and delicious handmade macarons. Whilst the prices might seem a little steep, the service and masterpiece of a cake you get for it makes it absolutely worth it. Reshmi had fast, professional and friendly responses to all of my queries, and the sparkler included for free was a nice touch. The cherry on top, though, was the hand delivery, which was fast, tracked and the delivery driver was excellent. Note: Reshmi, if you’re reading this, your delivery driver was ‘really pretty’ and ‘told me everything’ according to my family member that was there for the delivery, so keep that up haha.

One of the best cakes I’ve tasted! Ordered for my son’s and daughter’s birthdays and everyone said how gorgeous it looked and tasted amazing. Hand delivered with so much attention to detail the order process is so simple with a personal service. Highly recommended.

I ordered the orange and pistachio cake for my husband’s 40th and it was absolutely stunning, not to mention delicious! It was a centrepiece at our party and everybody was asking me where it was from. Reshmi was a pleasure to deal with, the cake was delivered as promised by a very helpful driver. 5 stars from me!

The cake from Anges de Sucre was a triumph! Truly extraordinary. Thank you Reshmi. So tasty - moist throughout and not too sweet. Most definitely the best chocolate-Guinness cake I’ve tasted and I’ve tasted a few. My party guests were raving about it too. The portions were super generous and the large bottom tier would have been enough for 50-60 guests. The cake was at the pricier end of the range so one tier would have made a difference in the cost however it was so delicious people were delighted to be taking some home so it was worth every penny. It came with a free sparkler and chocolate message slab which was classy. Emails were answer swiftly when I had queries. The only thing I would have liked was an “it’s on way” email a couple of days before just confirming again the order as it’s one of the things you worry about when you’re organising a party. I will order again in a heartbeat if I need a big occasion cake in future.

Reshmi has done it again. Amazing celebration cake. Totally wowed everyone with its lightness and flavour. I know some people moan about costs of professionally made cake but remember we pay for ingredients and the time and skill that goes into it. Completely worth EVERY penny. Definitely a little gem of a shop in big ol’ London.

mother Margaret Rose has just moved in to St Theresa's care home in Roland Gardens in South Kensington as she has quite severe Alzheimer's. She was so delighted to have her first tea party there with the other 25 residents and her cake made the event super special. Thank you Anges du Sucre

I've bought three of Reshmi's StoryBakes books for my daughter and they're all fantastic. A great, fun & engaging way to get children into baking, with a delicious, tasty treat to eat at the end! Our favourite is Olivia's lemon loaves - sublime!
