If you haven't been to the Tutankhamun Immersive Experience at London Excel, you need to go.

X-Ray has been studying about Ancient Egyptian history and has been obsessed with Tutankhamun (the young Pharaoh), Pyramids, tombs, mummies and hieroglyphics. We spotted the posters of the Tutankhamun exhibit at Excel in the tube and it was no-brainer.

Initially, as you go through the various rooms, it's a bit of a snooze-fest. Mainly because it's a lot of big panels of prose to read. Then it gets a bit more fun with replicas of Tutankhamun's tomb, mask and other artefacts. And then it gets the most fun in the Virtual Reality rooms where we don VR headsets and get transported to Ancient Egypt, the Afterlife and exploring tombs with Howard Carter. It was surprisingly a really fun, family activity.

It's clearly not just X-Ray who is obsessed with Ancient Egypt. One of our regular customers ordered a trio of bespoke Egyptian themed birthday cakes.
We had edible hand-modelled figurines of Tutankhamun's tomb with a peek-a-boo mummy inside, the Sphinx, a Pharaoh's mask, and a Pyramid made of rice krispie treats alongside papyrus scrolls of hieroglyphics.

These cake toppers were used to decorate three different cakes and we used a buttercream palette of beige and blue with hints of gold.

We love each and every custom cake brief as they are completely unique to the customer and often surpass their expectations. If you have an Egyptian-themed birthday party planned, get in touch with us for your own bespoke birthday cakes - we deliver all over London and Surrey!

Love,
Reshmi xoxo
